Default completely removing airbag system?

I'd like to completely remove anything and everything related to the airbags - car is caged w/ fixed back, 5pt, hans, yadda yadda. anyway, we've had some touchy issues after the swap with NATS and so forth so I'm leary of pissing off the body control module or anything like that, stupid modern CAN bus cars, heh.

So... can I remove the bags, sensors, partial harnesses, computer etc for it without affecting the car's ability to start and if I do that, how do I get the idiot light to go away? Or should I just remove the bags and wire in resistor(s) as needed to "trick" the system?

Thanks in advance!

it's a bulb? I always figured it was a surface-mount LED or something not to be messed with ...... last thing I want is to **** off some computer in the car by having it fail a continuity test on the "bulb" (or LED or whatever) and also have to buy a new cluster LOL

Electrical tape does wonders.

Just put some over the dash where the light is. Voila!
