Default Forged Performance/Mike Skeen Road Atlanta Vid

I invited Mike Skeen to come and do some testing/training with the two Forged GT-R's we run in the Redline Time Attack Series and select NASA events.

This past weekend, we hooked up with the good folks from Chin Motorsports for some fun at Road Atlanta. Mike has been a valuable asset in making us go even faster in these cars. For those of you that don't know Mike, he is the 2008 Spec E30 National Champ, and is generally considered one of the fastest and skilled pro's out there and an all around great guy.

One thing I learned, is that I am a chicken as a passenger. OMG, 10 seconds into my first lap with Mike and I wanted out! He helped me refine some elements of RA's tricky turn 1, 12, and 5, and I picked up about a second throughout the day. Initially, I was lapping in the high 1:33's and low 1:34's range, and by the end of the day my best was a 1:32. Mike also drove the second GT-R (silver one), and went a second faster in that one....he said it was a little bit better setup for him.

For those are curious, both GT-R's are almost identically equipped. We are running Toyo R888's, JRZ Triples, XP12 Pads, AP J-Hook Rotors, and about 500whp/3600lbs no driver.

Anyways, just thought I would share, and hope you all enjoy the video.

And here is my best lap of the day:

At your level picking up a second is very impressive. Great driving!

Traqmate is a great data tool......really like it. I'm going with Carbotech's XP8 pads and larger slotted rotors very soon. Have you heard anything (good or bad) about Girodisc rotors?

Good choice on pads. I havent tried the Girodiscs personally, but I've heard nothing be good things about them. I would not hesisate to give them a try.

Hey Sharif, what Go Pro are you using? Is this the old one or the new HD? Thanks, looking to pick one up, you seem to have good luck with yours?

That was Mike GoPro. Not sure if it was reg or HD. I have used the regular one and it worked great. No complaints for an inexpensive cam.
