That looks like a lot of fun. I've never done anything like that but I could sure be tempted. There are some hurdles for me to cross however.
How did you install a harness in your Z (I wouldn't need one according to the rules since I would be entered in a Touring class I assume, still it would be a good idea)?
How did you install the fire extinguisher? If you have a roll cage both the harness and fire extinguisher are relatively simple I suppose.
Did you use a co-driver?
What is the "Hand timing division"? Is that just the same only you can only use old-school tools such as paper, watch, and calculator?
- no road race experience
- no competition license
- no harness
- no fire extinguisher mount
- long way from TX
- how to explain the idea to my wife!

Did you use a co-driver?The last two years two friends have backed out for various reasons..they swear they weren't scared..lol just the same to me...I don't have to listen to the screaming! LMAO!

yes exactly..
- no road race experience
Thats ok, neither did I my first race in 08, they will give you a license for the BBORR AFTER you complete the rookie class and driver training.Do NOT make the instructor scream...or no race! LOL - no competition license
See above.. - no harness
110 class can be raced with factory belts
- no fire extinguisher mount
I paid an older gentleman at a machine shop there in Sanderson, Texas to build me one that mounts to the front two bolts of the passenger seat rails. Not saying he's still there but you can have one made or buy one cheap. - long way from TX
can't do anything for ya there, but to say the experience is well worth it!!
- how to explain the idea to my wife!
good luck...mine just told me to be careful and make sure the life insurance I have is paid up..lool

Thanks for the information. Looks great. This year my schedule is crazy but who knows... The events in Nevada are a lot closer, but don't look as fun. The Bonneville 100 looks like it might be good however.

Am I reading the entry form incorrectly, or is the entry fee (including practice and membership) almost a grand for the race group you compete in? As an experienced road racing driver, I've never seen entry fee costs go up in direct relation to how FAST a car is.
I believe some costs went up this year...the practice went up 100...need to look at the rest.
I cannot tell you how much the permit from TXDOT to shut down a 60 mile road for 12 hours is...I would imagine its quite high..
Everything we're involved in and everything we get to do makes it worth it to me...but again ..yeah its not cheap..
80 & 90 mph $375
95 mph $450
100 & 105 mph $475
110, 115, & 120 mph $525
Unlimited $600
$600 is still a little steep to hit the governor, but cheaper than a 150mph speeding ticket.
Saw another in Nevada http://www.sscc.us/ , but nothing in Utah (except Bonneville of course), Wyoming, Kansas, or New Mexico...
