I've probably got 2 year old rubber on my car. It'll come off with a hell-a-of lot of scrubbing but I really haven't had success with anything else.

Someone told me try WD-40. Didn't work.

Suggestions?

Goo gone leaves a mark in the paint. Strips the clear coat a little bit and leaves a haze

WD-40 should work. Try mineral spirits or kerosene. You may have to soak the rubber several times to dissolve it since it has been on your car for so long.

Failing that, you're gonna need to polish it with something like a swirl mark remover or some fine polish.

I hit a cone at 70 when I tracked out, off the track at TWS CW, and it left a crazy mark on my car. I used Turtle Wax Polishing Compound and alot of elbow grease.

After 24 years of racing, I've found the most effective cleaner for rubber (and other marks) is 3M's adhesive remover. Comes in a can and can be applied with a paper towel. It removes it right away and leaves the paint and clear coat unaffected (although it will strip the wax or sealant).

The cone cone marks off of paint, I've found a good cleaner/wax works pretty well.

My biggest challenge is getting cone marks off the 3M clear bra. Greg suggested brake cleaner for that, and it works well.

Takes off the wax, but it seems to leave the rest of the paint.

You don't need a lot, just enough on a cloth to break the cone mark's hold on the paint.

It's also the only thing that will get cone marks out of the clear bra.

My little pieces of clear bra just in front of the rear tires are more black than paint colored at this point. :-/

I'll try these suggestions but they all appear to need a bit of elbow grease.

Elbow grease with 3M Adhesive Remover the best and only way to remove those marks. It allows you to control the amount of product and force to erase the contamination and not damage the paint.
