I will get those pics up by the weekend.

BTW: Robinson Racing built the cage, they do great work. The cage is one reason I purchased the car,,,very safe (with fire system and racetech head restraint seat)

Pretty much as many pics as you can get me I would love to give them to my builder.

Now I am even more impatient for my build.

350 looks amazing and 370 is badass too!

Trade me the rear pair of stock Ray's wheels for my front pair

I beleive it is a wire/cable running from the dash to the fire bottle...kinda like a lawn mower throttle cable...Have to remember to pull the safety pin before each race

BTW; I will be around all weekend of you wanna see the car, and TRY to make me a deal of some wheels

Do you plan to make any changes from its current set-up or run it as is for the season?

Just run what I have if I can, only have 2 more races this year anyways...then do improvements/repairs over the winter.

That's either a Pheonix or Pegasus pull wire system. The cable activates a plunger on the bottle that then routes to the nozzles.

not really sure...the PO sez it weighs a minimum of 3250 with Driver...but that has not been "officially" verified. i.e., I have not seen a certified scale report.

Note: 3250 lbs is about what the NASA PTC class minimum weigh is...so who knows...but that sounds about right (with driver)
I will be taking it for an Official NASA Dyno run and weighing soon. I will post up after that.

At last I find the thread! Congratulations on your new-to-you 350Z racecar. It's a very well balanced machine and I know you are going to enjoy it.

The car sits right at the weight limit for the class, which I believe is 3250lbs. We had to add ballast a while back, but I'd want to weigh it again.

Congrats on the purchase. Do you think you might drop in some Nismo aero parts for improved aero-downforce, or just go with the tried and true methods of a home brew front lip and big rear wing?

The car is maxed out from a points standpoint for NASA PTB, so additional aero would not be permitted and would not be worth the bump into PTA.

results from the initial shake-down runs.

* My Son and I ran the FCR-PCA HPDE @ Roebling this past weekend. Temps in the mid 90s, and rain off/on...
* Oil temps went up very high if I ran the entire session @ 100%....so when temps went up I just would go part throttle down the front straight to bring oil temps down. Based on the Setrab web site...I need to double the size of the oil cooler for this size/horsepower engine...gonna install that before the next event
* As warned by the PO, the rear end would "step out' very badly in the right hand corners ONLY !!! (almost all the corners @ Roebling) ...it was pretty scary at 1st...I thought I had low tire pressure in the left rear tire, but the tire was fine. So I increased the shock setting until the problem was at least controllable...but then the shocks where too firm and "bounced" thru the bumpy corners. So I think one of the rear shocks is defective....but I didn't swap them or do anything at the track...could be a suspension bushing problem...or broken sway bar...maybe a Diff issue...but i don't think so.
* I ended up running the front shocks on #3 or 4, and the rears either #5 or 6...(1 is full-firm, 18 is full soft on Tein Flex with EDFC
* What is weird is the the car handled fine in the left-hand-corners (T3 @ T5)...I could power hard thru the left hand corners like my old Z-car, but had to be very gentle on the throttle in right hand corners ...till i was almost at track out or the car would just "jump left"...So I was not very quick...maybe !:24 or so...My Son Colin ran consistent 1:27s
* However my Son didn't notice the problem...but he was not driving it as hard as i was...so he thought the car handled great! (maybe a driver problem )
* I added a "SuperTrapp" muffler to the end of the exhaust system, and didn't have any problems with being too loud...but the car didn't seem like it wanted to pull at top end...I could only hit 130 MPH if I got a good run out of T9...which was hard to do because of the handling issues. The rest of the laps I did 127-129 MPH...which is not bad.
* Overall it was a great weekend!

Sounds like a shock or roll issue. What was the alignments on the rear?

haven't checked the alignment on a rack...just "eye-balled" it...But I plan to do that...

I did weigh the car with 1/4 tank of gas and no driver 2950 lbs,
LF 817 RF 816
LR 667 RR 653

with driver and 1/4 tank of gas 3140

LF 879 RF 841
LR 744 RR 678

So it looks like the car was corner balanced WITHOUT a driver in the car...so Maybe the alignment is whacked-out as well.

Note: Gas gauge is flaky...so need to weight the car again when completely full...sometime would show 1/2 tank, then show 1/4 or 1/3 tank...so weights are "approximate"

Sorry to say, but support has been minimal, particularly for grassroots efforts. You'll need to register with Nissan Motorsports and put a CC on file. After displaying a few decals, you are eligible to purchase parts at a discount.

Yes, I have registered, and awaiting the decals to show up...

getting a discount is better than nothing
