What can Nissan do for a 350Z racer?
I just purchased a 350Z NASA race car, and are wondering what can Nissan Motorsports do for a 350Z NASA racer? What type of support can I expect from them? Maybe some parts at "cost", or what...nothing?
Thnx!

Not looking for sponsorship, I don't see the word sponsorship in my previous post, only "support"...
I'm just looking to understand what support Nissan give racers..i.e., parts discounts, technical support, contingency money based on performance, etc.
Do they sell direct or do you work thru dealers for parts/tech support?
I have searched the forums, found some info...also emailed Nissan, and visited their website: http://www.nissan-motorsports.com/ENN/
and will register ASAP!
Really just wondering what a NASA racer can expect from Nissan. The same question I ask Hawk, Hoosier, etc...what is the 2010 program for NASA PT classes.
Do you have any answers?

I recall a program Nissan had for competition sports. You put a Nissan sticker on the car. When you win a race you send the results to Nissan. But I forgot what they give you.
Winners might also contact local Nissan dealers for sponsorship.
Keep in mind the key is WIN.

Guys, I get it..you gotta win!
BTW; I am the 2009 NASA_SE PTE Champion and 2009 NASA_SE Rookie-of-the-year. So I have some experience/success at a local level. However as I freely admit, I am a noob racer..now where near some of the Vets in this forum....

Here's the Nissan Motorsports 2010 Racer Support plan and Contingency Award Program but it sounds like you may already know about this one (check the link for complete info). Hope it helps.
Drivers must register with Nissan Motorsports in advance for both programs and award claims must be submitted no later than 30 days after the event to receive the contingency payments - which range from $100 for a first place finish in any class of Redline Time Attack competition, up to $1,500 for a SCCA National Championship in a Sentra, 350Z or 370Z. The top contingency award in 2010 is $2,500 for a World Challenge Driver Championship.
Nissan grassroots racers are given a valuable assist through the Racer Support Parts Program, which provides special pricing on Nissan Motorsports Competition or OEM parts. This program requires display of official Nissan and NISMO (Nissan Motorsports International) logos on designated areas of the race car or truck during all competition events. Components purchased through this program are intended for the sole use of Nissan racers on their race vehicles. Copies of the 120-page 2010 Nissan Motorsports Catalog are available now and can be downloaded at www.nissan4parts.com.
For more information on the Racer Support Program, or to order the catalog, contact Nissan Motorsports at 888/833-3225 or nmc.race@nissan-usa.com.

lol I think some ppl are missing out that laze1 (from what I've read) is a pretty dang good driver. I'm sure you'll get some sort of support from Nissan if you show them your history.
if you apply for a scca license you may use your license number as a PO# they will give the parts at list price, there gonna ask you for a dealer code tell them you got your scca license and they will grant you the discount
I have a NASA Competition License, not SCCA...but will try anyways

Thnx!
I am just looking to see what NISSAN or Hoosier or Hawk or any other equipment Vender has for a NASA Support program...just basic stuff...not handouts.
Hoosier has a great plan, as well as others, too bad NISSAN doesn't. But I race for Fun, no other reason...so having NISSAN support or not doesn't change my plans to race for fun at the regional level with NASA...Plus I luv driving Z-cars fast...
