Default NASA @ Homestead Nov 6th-7th, 2010

The next event on the NASA calendar is the first weekend of November at Homestead Miami Speedway. For those not familiar with NASA, they put on a great event with everything from HPDE to Time Trials to W2W Racing.

The HPDE program is for everyone, with levels 1-4 depending on your skill level and experience. From there, you can begin Time Trials, racing against the clock in a class of similarly competitive car. Finally, there is W2W racing, which has classes for any car! A NASA competition license is required, though other licenses are accepted such as SCCA, after your credentials are reviewed.

If you have never run your car on the track, or have never run with NASA, it is worth trying it. It is a safe and competitive bunch of drivers who all share the same goal of bringing their car home in the same condition it arrived at the track in.

For the November event, the fees are as follows:

HPDE 1 (w/ Instructor) - 2 Days - $489
HPDE 2-4 - 2 Days - $409
Time Trials - $409
W2W Racing - $299

Dont hesistate to ask any questions and check out the website, www.drivenasafl.com

Thanks,
Joseph

Will be there, all registered for the event. Since I haven't been to the track in 1.5 years I registered for H3. Need some seat time before getting back into TT.

If all goes well I'm hoping to move to H4 so I can sign up for TT in December, at least that's the plan. The TTC group/competition is awesome and I can't wait to get out there!

For now, I'm getting ready for the HOD event @ HMS on 10/09. I'm hoping to dust off the cobwebs at that event. Need to get my car ready, some goodies came this week:

Bell M4 Helmet:

Raybestos Racing Pads (ST41 compound for StopTech ST40, ST43 compound for stock rears):

Brake Fluid and Power Bleeder:

Whiteline Inner Control Arm Bushings:

Diff and Trans Oils:

^ Thats sweet... It looks like I'm going overboard for HPDE1 lol. Arai GP-5W, Ferodo DS2500's F/R, DBA Slotted/drilled all the way around, ATE fluid, Stoptech lines, Power steering cooler, and oil cooler. I'm pretty stoked but bitter that I'm missing the HMS, at least I'll hit up the West Palm beach event. Good luck Gents...

Nah, my setup is VERY budget conscious. I definitely need to look into at least an oil cooler, my car has over 100k miles on it, sometimes I worry about tracking it but its held up so far. I think for the most part Z's hold up really well, even w/ lots of tracking and autox. I'm still on original clutch too.

BTW, where did you get your oil cooler and how difficult is the install?

It's a Stillen and I have yet to install it... all the parts I posted are sitting waiting for me minus the DBA's, which reminds me I need to email Adam at Z1. The instructions seem to be very straight forward, the power steering cooler I'm getting from Summit and I'm using an idea that Jay had in regards to routing the hoses. I'll have a write up when I finally get it done. Its a big piece though and its a Seatrab core... I'm changing the fittings to nickel with black braided hoses.

Best bet is trying to get a shop to rig up a custom oil cooler with a setrab core, thats what I run. Also stay away from drilled rotors, you WILL crack them and ruin them. See you at the track!

I am heading up to RA in March...I hope. Assuming I feel the car is dialed in well by then, I may fly in to Mid-Ohio and either rent a race car for a NASA event or do the Acura Race school rental in June to get ready for Nationals in September.
