Default Playing with Old Iron

I know its not a 350Z, but some might be interested in the kind of thinking involved in building a competitive autocross car from old iron. The car just came into my shop yesterday.

http://www.rhoadescamaro.com/build

The really good part is this section: http://www.rhoadescamaro.com/build/?p=338. A lot of that applies to the 350Z world in the context of autocross.

That's the first time anyone has explained shock/spring placement in a way that really makes sense. LOL at the Camaro's OEM spring next to the aftermarket one!

Nice. My dream build one day is one of these:

With some big "old iron" under the hood too.

Just finished one for a customer with an old iron RB26DETT. Its horsepower number was "Silly."

i thought the name J-Rho seemed familiar and sure enough it hit me once I saw the 240SX and he mentioned it was his. This guy puts together some serious cars, I'm surprised he is still toying with SCCA auto-x and hasn't tried going more pro.

Jason likes autocross. He might have the talent to go amateur racing but he doesn't have the funds to go pro racing. I raced against him back in the old NASA OTC time trial events. He is the re-inventor of the Active Aero Big Ugly *** Wing which is detailed in Hayashi's old OTC thread from 2003:
