Senna
LONDON, Jan 30 (ITV Sport) - The film about the life of legendary world champion Ayrton Senna has won a prestigious award at the Sundance Film Festival in America.
'Senna ' director Asif Kapadia was presented with the World Cinema Audience Award for Documentary Film during Sundance's prizegiving ceremony last night.
The movie has attracted rave reviews from both the Formula 1 community and cinema critics since it was first screened in Japan and Brazil last autumn.
It will be released worldwide during 2011, with British audiences getting to see it in early summer.
The film chronicles Senna's dramatic F1 career, from his arrival with the small Toleman team in 1984, through his three titles, his rivalry with Alain Prost and his battles with officialdom, to his death at Imola in 1994.

Sooo...this movie came out via "other" channels.
I want to see it with English subs, I feel like I missed a lot of the intimate conversations. Alot of interviews are in Portuguese/Spanish
**** man, 1984, Monte Carlo, the on car footage...no longer driving with a conscience, the circuit was like a tunnel. Unreal.
Williams car was REDONK, like the t2000 of F1 cars.
Such a sick sick movie.
A must see.

Yea, i really liked it and i will def watch it again when the subs come out for it, i agree you lose a lot of the intense moments with his family and the portuguese interviews etc..
Worth watching even if you only understand 70% of it.. the ending made me tear up a little, not full on bawl.

I'm just watching this movie now...WOW.
Watching the cockpit-view footage from his Monaco GP debut, you get a sense of what a religious experience must be like. Watching Senna's F1 car skipping through the track with the Brazilian samba soundtrack of the film is perfection. The 1991 Brazilian GP at Interlagos must have been one of the biggest celebrations in the history of the sporting word.

Can't wait for the US premier, looking for this movie on the torrents now. What a great link for Lewis Hamilton & Clarkson, the sincere homage from some of the world's greatest drivers to Senna makes the man seem even greater as a human & F1 3 time world champion.

Thanks - really appreciate it. I can't wait to check it out tonight. I've got an uncle who lives in Monaco, and one year I went for a visit and saw Senna drive that shitty Toleman, and he was just amazing.
