hi guys, i've been running in novice BSP for couple events. I noticed that hardly anyone is in BSP. There were 2 people in BSP at the most. Most of the time, just one or none. Should i change the class to STX or something, or stay in BSP?
few mods: harness bar, 5 pt harness, racing seat (later), md spacer, coilover, pop charger, and exhaust(later)

You can't run in STX, at least not with the SCCA. You could run STR, but tires are limited to 255 width.
What are you running for tires?
Personally I'm building my car for BSP now and running it up here in Norcal

BSP is fairly healthy in California. Both Nor Cal and So Cal have big fields usually. If I could get my darn 370 Z classified in Street Prepared I'd join in on the BSP fun this year. FOr now think I'm relagated to ASP. ...Argh I did get our non SCCA club to accept it as a BSP car however.
I'd also check special classes your region may have developed. In SFR we have all sorts of crazy classes. OSP, Street tire classes, Index classes you name it. Theres a class for anyone intent on winning a trophy. LOL!
Something I didnt think about. If 350Z goes to ESP any chance 370Z will follow it? Or do you think it will hang in BSP? Seems to me the cars arent all that much differnt from each other especially in SP trim. Maybe a little HP advantage but 370 has width disadvantage.
I also have freinds building BSP Boxsters that are going to be wickedly fast. Look at this video. Old Boxster lightweight boxster with new 3.4 motor. Its scary!

There was much deliberation for changes in BSP....which needed them....and nothing changed at all. It was disappointing and my guess is BSP attendance will continue to decrease. All the while the outclassed BSP cars move to STR, STU, and SM2.

So do you guys recommend me moving to other class or no? is STR more competitive than BSP as in more fast cars?

There's still a "chance" the 350z will move to ESP, but I highly doubt it with the whiney solid axle folks in ESP that have throw their hands in there air again that the sky is falling.
Plenum spacers technically aren't STR legal (no mods past the throttle body), but I doubt anyone at the local level will care. Other than that, you're all set for STR now as long as you keep tires under 255 and wheels under 9" wide. You'll likely be more competitive there, especially on street tires. Times will be slower on average in STR compared to BSP (street tires and no Evos with boost cranked up).
