Update on our 2011 track events
Just a few updates on upcoming THSCC/TZC events in the next few months.
First, we have the second of our two RTP area tech days coming up March 12 at Performance Chassis in Cary NC. There are still a few spots available for this one so make sure you sign up soon. We require all cars to have a tech inspection before going on track so don’t miss this opportunity. Register Here
Also, don't forget the new safety requirements for the 2011 season. All HPDE participants will be required to use a SA2005 or SA2010 rated helmet. We will no longer accept helmets rated SA2000 and older. All Time Trial participants will be required to use an approved Head and Neck restraint device. See Apex Performance for all your safety equipment needs and ask for the THSCC discount.
We also have registration open for our first three HPDE and Performance Chassis Time Trial events of the season. See below for details.
“Great Piece of Asphalt” – April 2-3, 2011 – Virginia International Raceway – North Course – Register Here
All run groups are currently open. This is the same weekend as the NASCAR Martinsville race, so rooms in Danville will be scarce. We have reserved a block of rooms at the InnKeeper in Roxboro, call 336-599-3800 and ask for the THSCC rate of $79.99. There is also lodging/camping available on site at VIR.
“Exploration of Speed” – May 14-15, 2011 – North Carolina Center for Automotive Research – Register Here
All run groups are currently open. This will be our inaugural event at NCCAR and we hope everyone can join us. We will be running the track counter clockwise. NCCAR will be allowing tents and RV’s as well as offering electrical hook ups for those that need it. They also have very nice garage facilities available for weekend rentals. You can make reservations with them by calling 252-308-0516. Our official event hotel for this event will be the Quality Inn off of exit 173 on I-95.
“Southern Fried Track Event” – June 18-19, 2011 – Carolina Motorsports Park – Register Here
Registration for this event is now open. We are returning to CMP once again. If you haven’t run an event with us there yet, you need to sign up for this one. They now have their kart track open and Asphalt Ventures is holding a karting day on that Friday, June 17, so come on down and make a long weekend of it. Colony Inn in Camden SC is the hotel of choice for this event.
