Here is my video from the weekend's two sprint races. The first video is exciting from green to checker. I get caught behind a white FR500 who holds me up for 10 laps, despite he was 4 seconds slower a lap than what I could do. At the end, the S2000 thinks the race is over and coasts the car around. I pass before the last turn and retake 2nd. I ran a faster time than the winner, so if not for the traffic, I would of had a great shot at winning.
Now with 16 or so races under my belt, I need to start being more aggressive on these starts, as I am quickly learning determine 90% of the races I have been in. I braked way too early into the first turn, and let the Mustang and S2000 back around me...cant let that happen.

This is a video from the Sunday race that was inevitably cancelled due to track conditions..watch this and you will see why..

Ha, that was me. I'm kinda known for doing that (both the pass on the start and ending the race one lap early, I did it in an ITB race in a Protege 3 years ago, Saw the checker and had a brain fart moment and pulled in the pits before actually crossing the start finish line). The car often qualifies around cars much faster in a straightline then it so I've had to do that same thing on a couple starts. Here are two caught on video...

lol, we all have those brain fart moments.
My lastest was going out on the first practice laps at RA after not being there for about 8 years. Did an orientation lap with no issues, then on the first hot lap I came out of turns 10-11, was nice and centered under the bridge like I remembered...over the hill, and then prompty found myself on the left hand pit entrance road.
Nothing like the drive of shame as your slowly cruise through the wrong side pits and have to ask to get back on.

For the Protege pitting in before the checker it was at PBIR and the same flag stand is used for the front straight and the back straight. All weekend they checkered Practice/qualifying and the green for the race from the back straight. I did a cool down lap in qualifying and was promptly pulled into the stewards office for doing an extra lap after getting the checker on the back straight (myself and like 5 other guys I mind you). Apparently they wanted you to take the checker for the session and pit in 100 yrds later. So for the race we got the green on the back straight and with the sun low on the horizon I saw a checker when coming down the back straight (not realizing it was from the other side of the flag stand) and then I promptly pitted in 100yrds later so I wouldn't get yelled at again for a cool down lap. Only to watch the field go by and take the checker on the front straight.... DOH! I'm sure It's not the dumbest thing I'll ever do.
Radios would solve all these issues but I'm too poor for that.
