The guy I bought my GTR from did a 14-something in his Civic Si.

Give me a couple years. Depending on my pcs location, I could have a thread to contribute here, along with a video.

Haha dang, a 14 minute lap? thats horrible. But most people would get a time like that driving it once and never being on it before. Nice though, keep us posted!

I've been there numerous times but never recorded my lap time. I also need an in-car camera for better vids.

A friend of mine and I got to race in the 24 hr in 2008 in a Honda Accord and I think it was about 11:18 a lap including the F1 course. We ran a tourist day in a Seat and it was all we could do to pass a tow truck headed to pick up a crash.

Fastest car I have had out was an SLK200 (SC 1.8L). No idea on time, they discourage the use of lap timers as people have a hard enough time staying alive out there

We did 13 laps on a tourist day before the race and every lap someone was crashed in a different spot. They have a lighted track map at the entrance and flash the spots where the crashes are.

This is a video a good friend of mine did years ago. Dan Tackett is one of the best drivers I've had the honor of knowing. I've worked with numerous pro drivers from club racing to Indy car drivers, and he's on par with all of them.

This video is a GREAT point by point tour of the 'ring for anyone who wants to learn to drive it.

That's what happens when you let the general public run on an open track.

BTW: Great video. Awesome narration.

I was able to do a few laps last year when I went for euro delivery of my m3. Lap times were around low 11 min. Of course this is while the car was still in break-in, so minimal wot, short shifting, and not excessive speed on the start/finish straight. Even just cruising around then ring at a slower pace would be a great experience! I recommend it to anyone that has the opportunity.
