2012 SCCA T3 350Z Race Car Thread / Build
Good luck with the build! I'll be following your progress so keep us updated.
A couple weeks ago I submitted a request to the CRB to remove the restrictor from the VQ35DE motor'd T3 cars so you might be able to toss it soon.

Scott...call Paul St.Clair and ask him what he sent us. The rear bumper took us a bit of time to put all the little pieces together without any instructions.
The SCCA T3 rules for last year said 3400#'s with driver and expect to get weighted about every race. Rob told me last weekend that SCCA took 25#'s off the car for 2012 but for some reason I can't dowload the new rules.

Thanks! Green Machine is for sale all over the forum!
Negatory.
This.
Toss it? I haven't even had one made yet!
Anyone have an extra one I can borrow until March 27?
Scott, might be worth seeing if Bill Steinhoff has one. He campaigned a DE in T3, but has an HR now.
Also, the fastrack with suggests, changes, etc usually comes out towards the middle of each month. You can sign up to get notification via email through scca.com.

The first regional event that I see is 2/25, do they make class changes throughout the year? I'll have to keep looking for the link for GCR changes. I do get emails from scca otherwise though.
Sometimes the changes are immediate. They might not update the GCR as a whole. Just keep an eye out for the fastrack.

Also, it never hurts to send the seb a letter for changes you think are in the best interest in the class. May be worth writing one in support of Brian's no more restrictor for the DE's.

UPDATE:
8.5" wheels - check (NISMOs)
245 wets on wagon wheels - check
245 R1, R6, and A6 - check
Still lots to do, but at least I'll have something to roll on.
I can in a few days when I return to the car. I need to check out that system more closely anyway so I can make adjustments to it.
I think the shear suddenness of the spec-Z announcement has thrown more than just you for a loop, Scott. I didn't have any idea this was even a thought....sounds like I wasn't alone.
I had no idea either. Had I known, I wouldn't have ripped my interior completely out.
I sent an email to NASA main office thanking them for this and then proceeded to give them my thoughts...LOL
I mentioned that I had removed my dash, heater core, e-brake and blower fan and those are all things needed on for the spec. I don't think they're necessary and I removed them to save weight. I can easily add ballast in my car to meet spec weight (3100lbs for my Z).
I also mentioned that the 9" wheel in front is a little small. I looked up BFG's website and they recommend 9"-11" for that 275/35/18. I don't think they should go with the smallest wheel. I think a 9.5" should be minimum. That way people can run the ever so popular 18x9.5 Enkei RPF-1 setup to be square and have the ability to rotate their tires on all four corners to longer life.
Just my $.02.
If they could fix those things, I would heavily consider running it in 2013.
Thoughts?

I think it is too late too. Some regions already started and others start in a couple weeks.
I really think NASA has no clue that the Z has no front camber adjustment. This rule doesn't make sense because of the front. There is no normal limits of adjustment. LOL
14.2 Camber
a) front and rear camber is unrestricted provided it is within the normal limits of adjustment. No
modification to increase or decrease camber is allowed.

I applaud the effort of NASA, but this was an announcement that needed to come out in the Dec 15 time frame. I say that realizing that they were still piecing things together, most likely, at that point.
