2012 SCCA T3 350Z Race Car Thread / Build
2500 miles. Towing? That'd take at least two days each way, but I'd probably just ship the car with an extra set of wheels in it.
The Z is > < close to being ready for a test day this Friday at Thunderhill. I'll use this day to try and dial in the new suspension and get used to the new WaveTrac differential. I also have to get a NASA inspection before the first NASA race event 4/15 weekend at Thunderhill. Things are . . . slowly coming together. When I had the car out last time (SpecZ suspension minus the sway bars, NISMO diff instead of WT), it handled horribly, hence the day-for-dial-in before race weekend.
I'll also try the spec tires for a session or two to get a feel for them. I have the 275 BFGs mounted on 18x9 NISMO fronts and 18x10 RPF1 rears until/if the rules get revised. I hate when I don't match, but I'm not plunking down the $ for 9" RPF1 wheels if they aren't going to be allowed. . .

Scott, I am really interested to hear how the WT diff feels. Please post up on here how everything goes. I will be purchasing Spec diff soon, but if it's that terrible, I will go with the Nismo.
The OEM unit that comes on the NISMO, touring, grand touring, performance, enthusiast, etc., may be allowed bc it's an OEM/stock unit. Same as running any brakes that were offered for the car, any engine, any OEM aero, etc. The aftermarket NISMO LSD, that most of us enjoy and love, is NOT allowed.

WT diff felt good. I was able to apply power early, and power out of the turns at WOT like I was used to with my NISMO LSD. Still have to make some adjustments to the car, but it is feeling good. I set my fastest lap ever at T-hill with the bypass, even over my greenZ which has 15 more horsepower and is 200# lighter.

Sounds like the SpecZ setup it more sorted out than we originally thought, it just has to be used as a package vs parts and pieces.
