Moved my glove box to the other side , gives better access to the fuel pump if needed.

Default Installation Help!

So I started the installation for the Kirk Rollbar today. Everything went fairly smooth. But now I got stuck at this point. The 2 extensions that suppose to bolt to the wheelwell is like 2inches short! Did I install the main hoop too far up front? You can see the pics that the base of the main hoop sits flush against the floor and the back with all the bolts tightened. Am I suppose to just use more brute force to push it back? My friend and I tried to push it back and it just won't go any farther back...... I've attached some pics so maybe you can tell whether my main hoop is off or something. Thanks for any help!!

The sheet metal about 8 inches above the main hoop mounting needs to be tweaked slightly to allow the bar to fall properly into place. Then I also used a ratcheting cargo strap to the spare tire mount to pull it into place

So it sounds like the only I need to do from where I am is just need more force to pull bar further back. But wouldn't that be constantly putting pressure on the bar as well as the mounting points? I just want to make sure this is the right thing to do before I deform any part of the chassis, since it will be a permanent change.

Thanks!

haha, I'm not concern about the appearance at all. More of a concern from a structural standpoint. Maybe "deform" is the wrong word.

Thanks for the advice!

Gives you a lot more room to bring stuff to the track.

I have had the kirk sitting around for a while now but have hesitated installing it so far as i've been thinking what to do with the speaker shelf. i think i am pretty set on cutting at least the top part out, but wanted to ask you if it has any affect of classing for nasa tt or w2w? I'm pretty sure the answer is no (aside from weight), but figure best to double check with others as well.

Old thread, but cyc5181, did you ever get it in? How much brutane did you have to force it into place? Thinking seriously about getting one. Just for DE and maybe TT later.

Yeah It's in and sitting pretty! I ended up using the method Terrasmak mentioned. We used 2 ratcheting straps i think, one for each side, to pull the bar in place. It took quite a bit of force to be honest with u. My friend and I couldn't push that thing far down enough to mount the bolts.

My suggestion to you is if you gonna get this, put a dent on the side (speaker shelf, not the floor where you mount it) of vertical legs are first. I looked at the end result and that's essentially what I did with the straps.
