Default Swaybar/ Shock Stiffness Settings

I'm going to try and keep this short. Tried searching for something like this but no luck.

Pease share your "go to", or favourite sway bar and dampener stiffness settings for neutral handling for reference.

This is especially helpful if you already run hotchkis sway bars. The shocks are more easily adjustable on the fly.

I will be following the manufacturer directions and trying to get a feel for what I like but it's very tedious work.

Hotchkis recommends full stiff up front. Full soft out back out of the box then adjust. This just sounds like trying not to get drivers killed.

Koni Yellow recommends Full soft everywhere and adjust upwards. Once again trying not to kill people.

I am still early into this and will need a couple of nights at the track to see what I like but right now I am disturbed by what feels like the return of some understeer. I already went to hole 3 up front and hole 2 on the rear hotchkis bars. Still feels like understeer.

It is also of note I also changed the VLSD to a 1.5 Cusco RS at 80%
Already run square wheels/ tires.

Thanks

I have this same setup and yes it gives some slight understeer.

On my last time attack I ran more tire pressure and medium dampers up front (hard dampers at the rear) and I felt less understeer but it wasn't neutral enough. Im thinking camber arms to get negative front camber would help a lot.

Every car is different depending on tire size, pressure, spring rates and other various settings. You need to find the right setting for you as a driver and your car by testing different setups. Here's a link to changes you can make to change the handling.

Full soft front and rear , stiffen front as needed. Better yet, square tire setup.

It took me a year to get my setup where I LOVE it. My car is a rocket on exit now...but we have different cars and setups obviously.

My setup is now;

Square tire setup (275/40/17)

(Ohlins PCV and Stillen Sways)
Front
Close to full stiff Dampening
Medium Setting on Sway Bar

Rear
14 clicks on dampening
Full Soft on Sway Bar

Cusco LSD 80% lock

My tuning was as suggested, started full soft and worked my way up over the course of last season.

Thanks for the detailed response.

I guess the deal is that if you want results, you will have to put in the work. No shortcuts.

Yeah, small changes, drive drive drive, small changes....and so on.

The biggest change for me was changing the rear sway setting to soft from medium, the car used to step out on exit, unable to put power down, had to roll into throttle, especially after gutting the rear.

Now she just squats and goes.

255/265 tire setup

Front camber = -2.5 with <1/8" toe out

Rear camber = -1.6 with <1/8" toe in

Front ~38-40 psi hot

Rear ~32-34 psi hot

Front bar = 2nd stiffest

Rear bar = middle

Koni "yellow" sport shocks set to about the halfway point at all 4 corners.
