Thanks to westpak, I found this site. I am planning to be there. Anyone else? I'm not sure what to sign up for though.

A few members went and froze there last year, so any info would be appreciated.

Is there a group for Blizzaks?

Hotel recommendations? Etc......

It's 3 months away, but I need to start planning NOW!

I would love to see a LARGE Z turn-out!

There were four Z's present at last year's event (plus BJ's Grand Am car), and I know that at least two of us are already planning on going. Weather is a bit funky though, as last year it was in the 70s on Thursday, and then dropped 40 degrees on Friday for a windy 30 degree weekend. I'll likely register sometime in the next two weeks. See you there!

Bruce--you're killing me. I'm not supposed to get the car out of storage until April 2nd... It would need new tires, gotta put those SS lines on and the sways....Not sure I can get all that done by then. What to do? What to do?

What to do??????? GO FOR IT!

Lines & bars shouldn't take more than 5 or 6 hours together. Just remember to put those plastic plugs on the hard lines where the flex lines attach to prevent loosing all your brake fluid.

I'll see you there!

Now, where is James?

edit......BJ's a faster typer(sp) than I! Nice of you to help a lady in distress! I'd love a ride too!

I'll call or email James this afternoon. Actually, I'll send out an email to the troops...

BJ, will the FD be ready by then?

I'm in distress??? That IS a good way to put it!

BJ--you guys will install the brake lines as well as the sways? You do tires as well? You are the man! What kind of deal can you hook me up with? I see my savings account dwindling quickly. Oh, and can i be second on the list for a ride?!!

Bruce--can you promise me another agricultural experience? LOL You might want to send a PM to Jason and let him know about this. We could have a rematch of Gingerman!

Do you have all the stuff already?
Let me know.

Default Wait 2 weeks

If you want a great experience to learn how to handle your car at speed attend the BMW school at Putnam Park the weekend of April 17-18. This school includes classroom instruction, in car instructor, and more. ( www.hoosierbmw.com ) Registration begins Feb. 1 and the application can be done on-line. Cost is $325. Being 2 weeks later then Mid-Ohio it's a lot warmer and this track is very forgiving but technical.

I wrote a response earlier today, but the damn hamsters ate it. Let's see if I can remember what I said,

I'm planning to be at Mid-Ohio for all three days. Should a few of us get together and rent a garage? I think three is the max that could fit in (with a nose or tail hanging out one end). The price is $175. It was really nice being inside at Watkins Glen last July. We probably won't need to be out of the heat so much at Mid-Ohio, but being out of the rain if we have to change brake pads (ahem, John), would be nice. Anyone?

As for hotels, last year I stayed at the Ramada in Belleville, OH, right off Rte 71. It's about as close as you can get to the track, except for a couple of B&Bs. There are at least three other hotels right at the same interchange, but I forget their names. Search for Belleville or Lexington, OH. BTW, Mansfield is farther away.

The main reason I chose the Ramada over a cheaper one across the street is that the Ramada has a hot tub. I found while at the Skip Barber school there a couple of summers ago, that there's nothing better than a soak in a hot tub at the end of a long day of driving.

Clyde, thanks for the suggestion, but for those of us coming from the East Coast, Putnam Park is an additional 200 miles. At 425 miles from my front door, Mid-Ohio is pretty close to the edge of my HPDE range.

Where exactly do you plan to sit? On BJ's lap?

BTW, John, did you know that the weekend after the Triangle Z thing at VIR, NASA's there? Also full course. I was thinking about doing that one. It works a little better with my schedule, and it's one week closer to spring!

I may try to do one or the other at the last minute, depending on how the weather looks a few days before. But I'll be getting back from Europe on the 11th, so heading off for the track a couple of days later would be a bit inconvenient. And I have a lunch date on the 13th.

Is the second one out of the question for you? Have you already signed up for Triangle?

I already sent my registration in for the THSCC since I haven't been happy with NASA/VA's track time. Plus there will be other Z's there...

As James said, we should try and split garage space... how many? I don't know. Perhaps just getting two would do to split some some costs / beer money between us...

Well, BJ does have his street car... I never expected a ride in his black machine...

Its possible that we would have three Z's up there. It might be just in time to test the new car!!!!
Just have to wait and see.
Def have my street car and 1 other Z up there.
I am ordering the SParco stuff next week to bolt in a passenger seat in one of the race cars.

I have a feeling we are going to be doing a lot of Konis shocks installs before that weekend.

Wow! In that case, can I take a ride with you, too, BJ?

More importantly, would you be available to ride in my car with me and give me some tips?

I just signed up. I'm really looking forward to it. I think Mid-Ohio is my favorite track, even more so than my home track, Summit Point.

Let's hope for nice warm, clear weather.

Nice. I see you sell Sparco seats, but what about harnesses? I already ordered my roll bar, but would like a set of 6pt. FIA approved harnesses. Perhaps you could help me out there?

And perhaps a FD and Nismo differential install too.
