UpRev / Osiris programs without cruise control
Gents,
What are y'all doing to switch between tune programs when all the cruise control gadgets are removed for an aftermarket steering wheel? I have a 91/street/commute, and a 100 for track, but no good way to switch between the two now. Shop suggested that I buy the $200 cable and dumping the programs onto my own laptop so I can switch when I want. With all the EEs out here, there just must be a better way. Do share!

Never thought about it before. Is it not possible to make your own black-box. I assume you still have the OEM steering wheel and associated electronics. I think of it as relocation the CC. Maybe it's just an oversimplification...

then I'm guessing it would be the same as if the wheel was in it's normal place

guys the cruise control is three wires.
Seriously lol.. rewire it elsewhere.. if any of you got rid of the coil wire on your radar detector by hardwiring it, were talking about about the same amount of labor here. lol.
stick the switch guts in your useless and broken ashtray and be done. red green black, three wires. theyre all right there behind the combo switch when you yank the column plastic off.
well i guess maybe it is alot of "work", but its seriously easy work.. three screws on bottom, 4 10mm bolts for the gauges pod, which to be honest isnt even necessary to fully remove.
I just dont like going upside down undere the dash.
we also already have threads w pics and instructions on that route by nosurf2day, but you asked about other options.. i still say thats the option that makes sense.

Thanks guys. All the wiring is gone, as the cage shop yanked it all out with the interior. Nothing remains, so I'd need to redo any and all wiring. Unless I can differentiate said 3 wires from the rest of the loom that's all cut back. I was hoping for something more out of the box, but maybe said solution doesn't exist.
I have 5 programs on my 300ZX TT, and they are changed by using the OEM digital clock. It's very trick. I was thinking something similar could be done with a simple left/right toggle switch.
