Default OS Giken oil in Nismo diff

I have been reading about how the OS Giken oil makes the OS diff work smoother and was thinking it might help the Nismo diff. Have any of you tried the OS diff oil in a Nismo or other brand of clutch plate diff and did it help?

Never heard of it. I use OS GIKEN in a OS GIKEN though.

Same clutch type LSD's so I would assume it will work.

How effective? You can give it a try and let us know

IMHO, a waste of money. Redline 80W-140 and two bottles of friction modifier in the Nismo diff and you'll get about the bet you can out of it.

I used Motul 90PA for my Cusco and it is not as smooth as what I expect it to be...... but then I guess that's about the smoothest it'll get for a clutch LSD........ people look at me funny in the parking lots...........

There's also a Cusco LSD oil. Have you tried it?

The design of the Cusco, Kaaz, and Nismo are such that popping and chattering is a common issue. It can be reduced with a couple bottles of friction modifier or you can send the clutches and drive plates out for REM treatment. A good diff shop can also reduce the preload on those diffs which will reduce the chattering.

I will try that and see how it is. The Diff currently has Motul 90pa in it and it is pretty loud.

I will try that if I can't get it a little better by changing the diff oil to something else.

hahaha, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about my LSD at all. In fact I absolutely love it!

But having said that, when I did my research, everyone was saying how the Cusco unit is so quiet and smooth compare to other clutch LSD, so I wasn't expecting it to be like that. If my Cusco is what people considered quiet and smooth, I can only imagine what the Nismo unit would be like. to be clear, I have the RS unit with the little springs inside, not the MZ.

but yeah, the LSD is awesome!
