I know there are at least two 350Zs entered into the event. If you know those people please pass this on!

BUMP. So there isn't anyone that cares about the premier motorsports facility in the southwest being closed down? Come on people!

Sad, but not surprising.

I wonder what happened to cause the county to feel the need to impose all the sound restrictions and property improvements.

At Laguna Seca they also have sound level problems; I think because of all the nice houses nearby. The sould levels aren't in effect when they have major races though. I'm surprised that there would be an issue @ AMP since there is an Air Force Base next door.

I work near Moffet Field in Mountain View, CA and I can hear fighter jets flying around outside even when I'm wearing headphones. Those things shake the entire building. Much louder than even the race cars.

Hopefully AMP can figure out a way to work through this.

The developer(Suncor) owns all the land around AMP, which they have bought recently. The issue is not the noise, it's It is Suncor's desire to build another 1000 houses in the area. It seems like they have enough money and good lawyers to drive everyone away.

In addition, they managed to use the argument that AMP is not using the facility in the precise manor that the operating permit states(which is somewhat true).

The county board of supervisors are the same group that repeatedly ring up $3000 cell phone bills that the people have to pay. The whole thing stinks.

Even if AMP gets a court injunction to keep the gates open, I wouldn't want to schedule any events there. As happened this time, the place was shut down 3 days before a major event with 300 racers. Somehow the local SCCA managed to find another place.

The whole thing stinks!!!

When we where at the Nat tour one guy said it was a question of 300 million vs 5 million bucks, so who do think will win?

Yeah, I know one of the guys named (John) that went.
We raced with each other in the Las Vegas Region last year:

I guess they had to change locations at the last minute. But, all in all, I hear everything
turned out pretty good. Bumpy track, though...

Here the scoop on AMP from LVRSCCA last summer:

It's more like 6 million(the AMP initial investment) vs. 180 million(the price Suncor paid for all the land around AMP).

Hey Nice pic, looks good for worn out corded Hoosiers. Really corded now after we ran PNX. Found out they make the new Hoosier in 245/35-18 from the tire dude at the event
180 vs 6 is still a HUGE differential.

Too big for people like us to overcome. Nice run at the Nat. Tour event. Maybe one day I'll be able to go up against those S2000 drivers.

We both coned on our best runs the first day, I nailed the very last cone b4 the finish lights, was a consequence of a bad entry to the slalom, think I would have had a low 37 something. Oh well, I think Matt got 2 on his run.
