Default Nitto NT01 front width advice

Hey guys,

I'm looking to put a set of semi slick tires together for tracking and was wondering if anyone runs 275/40/18's all around ? It seems that the Nittos jump from 245/40 to 275/40 with no inbetween sizes and I assume 275 rears and 245 fronts wouldn't be ideal.

The idea is to run the 275 all around with 18x9.5 +18 rims. Should be an alright fit but was wondering if it affects any performance on the track?

Any advice would be cool, thanks.

They offer a 275/35-18 that plenty of people run all around. Same size the Spec Z guys run.

https://my350z.com/forum/autocross-r...brands-21.html a lot of great info here

Very cool.
The Spec Z racing looks amazing. Just reading up on it today.
Thanks for the link as well.

Terra Knows his ****, listen to him! hehe, I run a 275/35/18 front and rear of the NT-01 and it works flawlessly. I would like to try the 40 side wall for better traction though, an idea that Robert fuller threw into my head about running a 17 in the rear and an 18 in the front. I am not turbo charged anymore though and have no traction issues on corner exit. when I was it was a 315 30 in the rear which made the car understeer horribly with a 275 in front with no geometry adjustment. Just remember that you need to either roll your front fenders or have wider ones by at least 10mm because I run them on a square rim set up of 18x9.5 with a +15 offset and they tend to rub at full compression.

Sweet. I've read a few posts about 275/40 in the rear and 275/35 up front and that it's a good setup to have slightly taller tires on the rear. I'm leaning towards this configuration.

Very excited to test out the NT01 275's all around.

Actually, having a square setup all around will greatly improve tire longevity because you can properly rotate them after each event. Also, a square setup helps balance the car better with less push. There are better ways to get a rake than using taller rear tires.

Good point.

I've actually gone that way and bought 275/35/18s all around.

*What I want to know now is if I can put on 18x10 rims all around without any problems or is a 10" width up front too wide? The rim I'm looking at only comes in 9" and 10".

It will depend on offset and how much negative camber you are running. I run 285/30r18 on 10.5's +15 up front with no problems whatsoever. Also had 285/35r18 without any problems. I'm running - 3.2 degrees camber.

I ran that exact tire/size on 18x9.75 +20 wheels on stock suspension with no rubbing at all.

Looks amazing! Looks like a +20 lines up nicely.

What rims do you run? I'm looking at the RPF1's but man I wish they looked sweeter on the Z.

I run el'cheapos. Those are XXR 530, 18x9.75 +20. They are only like $650 a set shipped to your door.

I also just ordered a set of XXR 535 in 18x10.25 +20 for some 285 Conti slicks

You need to at least roll your fenders.
