DIY: Add a second fuel transfer pump drivers side - fuel starve
Seems like this is a very common issue with track prepped Z's. Fuel starve on right hand turns. How frustrating when you have a fast lap and the dreaded fuel starve prevents a new PR! Seems like a second fuel pump on the drivers side moving fuel over to the fuel pump, on the passenger side, is the solution. Spec Z NASA and other pioneers on there developed this idea.
Thank you all who already posted details and information about this fuel transfer pump. Please feel free to add your installs to this thread to collect as much information as possible.
You will need new fuel tank o-rings. They are designed to stretch out and are usually non resuable.
I decided the best way was to run a hose from one side to another. I realize others have simply plumbed the new pump into the feed on the passenger side, but I wanted guaranteed fuel transfer from side to side. Leaving the stock pickup in place and adding a hose would only help this.

Make sure to buy submersible fuel hose, you dont want your nice new install ruining the fuel system with non-submersible hose when it melts away.

I found this convenient hole in the baffles on the drivers side to install the fuel hose in. Also stuck it under another baffle toward the middle of the tank, when you stick your hand in there you will know what i mean. Its wedged in nicely.

I wanted a fuel safe wire bulkhead. There are many super pricy ones, many DIY solutions. I found this one that is very nice and not too expensive.

Had to make a little room for the connector.

Install the pump, I used stainless zip ties to secure it. Stuck the sock under the baffle.

Make sure it test it! My wiring was backwards on the connector from racetronix. I wired up red and black but on the other end it was purple and blue

all done. wire up to a relay.

Nice write up. I did the same thing and definitely works. Beats adding a return line to use a surge setup. Surge would be better way to go, but this is a lot cheaper and way less time on install.
Update. This didnt 100% work for me. Still had starve on the most severe right hand turns. On the more mild turns it seemed to solve it for me.
My gas gauge does not work so I can't say how low the fuel was when starve happened.
