Having spent many hours staring at the underside of my Zs, I'll be curious to see what you come up with as far as weight reduction goes. The FM platform is plenty stiff, but it comes at a cost. There's no way to easily drop weight from the chassis itself IMHO.

Don't think that I'll come up with anything new as far as weight reduction goes, this is a great forum for info so I've been reading lots, much thanks to past contributors.

With another car the steel doors were entirely gutted including the the intrusion bar, a pull cord was used to operate the door latch from inside and foam poured into the lower door cavity to stiffen it up. But with the Z33 it could be difficult to get polycarbonate windows to sit flush with the body like OE, hmmmm.

If money is not a factor I would go for the 370z because it has a front double wishbone suspension.

Yeah, could have got a 370Z but much prefer the look of the Z33, which of course is crucial for a race car LOL. Plus I can have a go at the Z34's.

Finally got the 350Z up on the hoist and she looks pretty good underneath, no oil leaks or bashes, neat exhaust. The good thing is the two way KW Competition dampers but lots of poly bushes to be replaced with metal eventually. It's been lowered to hell which has messed up the suspension angles but that's fixable plus the ride height will be increased a bit temporarily to get the roll centre up a bit. But this is the second race car at present so it's not a top priority although I do like the Z33, we'll see how she goes on the track as is.

It's a Datsun 280ZX 2+0 with S14 suspension all round and a LS3 to make it go.
