NoVa 350Z track build
Just got back from 2 days at Summit. It was mostly wet, but I managed to get a few dry-ish sessions in between showers. No issues with the car, but I couldn't really tell much difference in steering feel with the solid rack mount. Also, my rear tires are starting to lose grip so I was doing a lot of sliding around. Here's a video from mostly wet sessions
and a few laps from a dry session

Hmm. I installed the GK tech mount but did so much other work on the car that winter that all I could tell is overall the car felt more quick at the wheel. but I replaced the steering wheel and steering end links and other stuff at the same time, like engine mounts, trans mount...
Yeah, my solid engine mounts are still sitting on the workbench waiting for when I get long headers, no point of doing the work twice. I do probably need to replace the end links as well.
Did an inspection in preparation for November VIR event. The GLoc R12 front pads have terrible life comparing to the PFCs I was running before. Unfortunately the PFCs are no longer available. The R12 lasted 2 events and they are done. I'm gonna try the R16s next see if I can get a bit of life from them. Also, rear tires are both corded. No wonder I was sliding all over the place. I have another highly worn pair I can stick on and hope they last 2 days at VIR but really I should get another pair of new tires before then.
wow, only two events. I've watched your VIR videos and I'm jealous of those monster straights but that explains your brake pads. at Sonoma, it's nothing but turns. brakes last longer on a track like that, I suppose, hadn't thought of that before.
The two events were actually pitt race and summit. I haven't been to VIR since last fall. But both Pitt and Summit are hard on brakes, lost of shorter straights that need threshold braking without much time to cool off in between.
Now that I think about it this will be my first VIR with the Kinetix intake, so that should be interesting to see the difference from last year.

Back from beautiful VIR weekend, excellent weather, great conditions and some very fun driving despite the run groups being packed with 60 cars each (more when we ran combined groups). The Z doesn't disappoint, ran like a champ all weekend with no issues whatsoever. My best lap times were again same as last year in the 2.10 range, top speed at 134, so I don't think the new intake setup gained me much... yet. What I really need is a set of long headers and a tune this winter to take advantage of all these mods.
Here's a Sunday session, my buddy in a silver gray 911 goes off on the first lap at the end of the back straight. Fortunately he was able to avoid the wall and I was relieved to see him back on track a few laps later.
