Very cool, I would like to try the vortech, I think it would be a good option for the track. my buddy has a sc s2000 making about 375 and it was very close to the Z, we had alot of fun.
Hey @Escobar running the same Q by you... when you were building your rear differential, did you go with 1.5 or 2-way? I'm already putting up with NVH so I'm willing to deal with difficult streetability but I don't know if I need two-way. yesterday after I got home from the event, I realized that I couldn't hear very well. from the exhaust.... I've researched the difference between the two. but no one has been very clear, so I just assumed two-way is more difficult to drive.
I went with the OS Giken 1.5 way. Its been taking track abuse with 400 whp for years. I dont have a cooler for it either. Ive never driven a 2 way, not sure why you would want that.

I just assumed 2-way was better for racing with continuous lock going into a turn with deceleration. It sounds to my inexperienced mind like 1.5 is 75% locking, and 2.0 is 100% locking, whereas open diff is 50%.
yep, having a base model it came with a open diff, then I swapped to a VLSD and it worked well, but once I went TT it died and swapped to a clutch type that could handle it.

im not sure about that, I would think under deceleration and trail braking you wouldnt want the lock, could make the rear a bit unstable? Maybe hoon can comment, I have never tried a 2 way on track. The percent lock can be adjusted to 80/20 or whatever as well, I think its more of a person preference thing..
I learn something and get better every track day. Just gotta get the reps in and talk to people who have alot of seat time. Its a endless pursuit for sure.
Yeah, 2 way is really for drifting mostly so that the rear end doesn't kick back inine when you get off the throttle, it allows you to keep the drift going on and off throttle. On the track there is no need for a 2 way diff and in low traction situations like wet or greasy surface it'll be harder to keep the rear end from stepping out.
just got back from VIR, had a great weekend. here is a few pics of the event. had a great battle with this mustang and GSF. I couldnt resist buying a pic of this amazing gt4rs. I ordered the AP racing 6 pot front brake kit and the 9 lives downforce kit for my winter project on the car. I also had a titanium exhaust made I'll post some pics up.
Finished up another weekend at VIR. Ran DE3 which was awesome. passing anywhere on track. Car did great, the new brakes are insane. Still experimenting with the aero, I had to remove the splitter because it was bottoming out, not enough bracing. Managed a 2:08, which is my personal best. Still plenty in the car.
Im back. Decided to remove the turbos and go NA. I bought a porsche 997 that been converted to a mini cup car and unfortunately the engine blew at VIR last weekend. I had no clue they were that fragile. Lesson learned, didnt do enough research. So im back to the Z platform and chasing as much reliability as possible. I got the engine out and kit off, just need to figure out what exhaust to run.
