I also quit taking the 987 to the track because they're going up in value. Was gonna install a baffled oil pan by FVD but decided against it. Sweepers are rare on highways; even with low-TW street tires you're still not likely to threaten the engine with high Gs.
my best time making 400 to the wheels was a 2:09, but was no where near the limit. In December with 250 wheel I ran a 2:13. I was starting to push a bit harder, I was able to stay flat all the way up through the esses, car felt great. It was a bit cold though, the high was like 38 degrees sunday but it was sunny. Im definitely progressing as a driver and getting faster. Im on 200 TW tires, so I feel a 2:10 is possible eventually if I go to slicks and get bigger *****.
Yeah, that tracks. About 3-4 seconds per lap for the extra 100+ hp because VIR has such long straights that reward pure power. I'm at a point where the car is pretty close to optimal setup for NA. Sure I can still tweak things here and there and gain fractions of a second, but if I wanted to get more substantial gains I'd have to move towards $$$ mods, either super lightweight components and/or power adders. On one hand it's very tempting considering I still have a couple buddies with newer 911s that are a second or two faster than my car, on the other hand I've been down that road and it always ended up with major failures and much reduced reliability. Sigh...

yea I hear ya, its tempting to keep chasing performance for sure! I still have a ways to go to develop as a driver. What times are you running now?
Pls Could you share details on the fron splitter? Mounting brackets etc.,....
Im running the 9 lives medium downforce kit. I have their sturdy boy brackets and then mounted 4 professional awesome supports on it the stiffen it up a bit. They are really nice because they can flex a bit and pop back into place. Here is a pic with the turbo setup. I got some titanium biscuits to put under them on the bottom and some on the sides.

My best last November was 2:09.8 on 100 tw Goodyear 3Rs which were new in the front but old and cycled out in the rear. With good rubber all around at least another half second is easily achievable. I posted the video in my thread here.

Damn thats impressive! Great time. A 2:10 was my target lap time on 200 TW tires so thats nice to confirm its do able.
Let me know the next event you run, I'd like to try and join and follow you. Im going to probably join the VIR club in 2027, have you considered it?

The only VIR event I'm signed up for currently is the Audi Fall VIR on Oct 31 - Nov 1. My season opener is likely going to be a one day at Summit on April 4th. I'm also going to be at Watkins on Aug 10 - 11. I'm sure there will be a couple other events in between that I'll end up doing, but no idea which ones yet. If you sign up for a VIR event ping me, I might be able to join.
Currently I'm not at VIR often enough to make the club membership worthwhile, after all it is a 4+ hr haul for me.
got the cage in. ended up doing chromoly. It turned out really good I think. Did a event at VIR a few weeks back with PCA, car felt great. My alternator ended up dying Saturday am, so I had to swap it out and was back out in the afternoon. Im in the process of swapping out the rear subframe bushings to SPL solid and changing out to 4.09 gears. My OS giken diff started to open up on me, its been in the car for 10+ years and most of that was boosted. Sent it off for a rebuild and figured its a good time to change the gearing...I hope it will make a nice improvement in acceleration.
10 years is a long time for a diff! that cage looks sweet. I'm headed in that direction.... how did you like going N/A after having the turbos for so long?
