Default Decreased Brake Bite Feel

I have the stock non brembo braking system and noticed my brakes don't have the same bite they used to after two consecutive intense track days. The pedal still feels hard and I don't seem to have any "soft pedal" issues. Prior to this last event I replaced my old pads with new Hawk HPS pads and bled the system with new brake fluid. I have not touched the rotors ever and noticed a small but noticeable gauge on the rotors. Would turning my rotors bring my braking system back to 100% or is there another problem I should address? I plan on bleeding the system too and making sure there isn't any buildup on the pads also. Do I also need to smooth out my pads? Also do I need to rebed the pads after rotors have been turned? I have read mixed reviews on turning rotors and want to get some opinions from you guys.

Thanks

I would only bleed the brakes and maybe take some 100 grit sand paper to the rotors and pads, then clean them off w/ brake cleaner. Your pads may have glazed and that is all that should be wrong. Do you get any vibration under moderate braking? After you clean the brakes, bed them slightly. That should cure it. I would not turn the rotors. Check your pads to see if you have any pad material left. Before I got a BBK upgrade, I would go through 1 set of front & rear pads in one track weekend.

Mcclaskz - I don't feel any vibrations but defenetely less bite. I think my pads should still be ok but I will check them anyway when sanding rotors/pads. Thanks for the advice, hope this works!!!!

Alex- I think you're following the right advice. You may have to remove the rotors to uniformly sand the surface. If the gouge is very deep they may need to be turned with a light touch. Check the pads for possible contamination that could be scoring the surface.

Soory to have missed you last Saturday. Did you enjoy the time trials at SCR as much as our LaJunta track day?

David - Had a blast at SCR but I really enjoyed La Junta too. Learned alot from you which helped me at SCR. You really got me hooked on this racing thing and absolutely love going to the track. Thanks alot for all your help. Was dissapointed you couldn't make this last weekend and we all hope to have you next race. You need to show the rest of the growd what a Z can do!!!!!

I sanded my rotors/pads and really felt a big difference!!! I must have had some deposit in my braking system.
