Default modded 350Z SCCA Solo2 Class?

Right now I'm running in BS since I'm still stock. I was wondering what class I'd be in with upgraded suspension and sway bars?

ahh, thanks. I was hoping I wasn't going to be in SM with all the M3's. BSP only has 3 or so people in it at the local autox I goto. Unfortunately though, one of those guy's is a highly modified C4 corvette that usually wins the class by 5+ seconds. Arrgh.

I'm in BSP here in socal...try being in the same class as the overall SCCA national champion for the past decade or so, Tom Berry (you can look him up at SCCA) in his C4 vette. I'm not even close to his times.

Does anyone have a link to what modifications are allowable under stu rules?

Found this searching on google....

Street Touring U (STU) is another new class for 2004.

STU will follow the STX rule set, but will raise the displacement limit for otherwise STX-legal vehicles to 3.1 litres for forced induction and to unlimited displacement for natural aspiration. To accommodate the greater power of these vehicles, restrictions on wheel width are lifted and the maximum tire width will be increased to 275 for front or rear wheel drive vehicles (but will remain at 245 for AWD vehicles). Other than these limited exceptions, the STX rule set as described in 14.11 applies.

This class extends the Street Touring concept to cars including the Audi S4, BMW M3 (E36), Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Neon SRT-4, Ford Mustang, Mazda RX-8, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8, Pontiac Firebird, Pontiac GTO, Subaru WRX STi, Volvo S60 R, and Toyota Supra. Excluded vehicles include the E46 M3 and the E39 M5. In conjunction with the planned evolution of this category and of the sport as a whole, these two supplemental classes will not be considered for full national status until 2007. One or both classes could then potentially be recommended for full national status provided that rules stability is attained, member participation is strong, and the classes continue to reflect the needs of the current enthusiast market.

That's exactely what I was hoping to hear. I found this STS classification site while searching on Google: http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/

I couldn't find a link to anything like this on the SCCA's website.

yep, BS and BSP isn't kind to Z's. So go with a ST class if you can.

As far as I know, the Z isn't legal for STU, no 2+2 cars, or 2 seater cars.

BS -> BSP -> SM2

Then who knows what prepared, and then modified class.

a little more info on STU

http://www.scca.com/_Filelibrary/Fil...4-fastrack.pdf

STU is an extension of STX, just for larger displacement. the Z doesn't fit in STX, so the larger displacement of STU does nothing for us.

STS2 may be a fit, but it's displacement is 1.8liters.
