www.wdcr-scca.org D.C. Region results. RX-8s and s2000 had a much better showing than the Zs this time. Mostly from us being new to the races.

Running competitively on Hoosiers for the first time this Sunday, should be fun to see the results.

This was my first autocross experience. 48.267 was my fastest time, Honda S2000s were running in the 46 second range with experienced drivers. Miatas were running 50 seconds with intermediate drivers. I ran B Stock class (not B Stock Novice) and here is how it went.

1st - Honda S2000 (Somewhere in the mid 46's)
2nd - Honda S2000 (Somewhere in the high 46's)
3rd - My 350Z (48. 267) (Track Model, Injen Intake, 40psi)

For my first autocross race I was just trying to get used to it. I would have had a high 46 second run, but I hit a cone. Oh well.

Errr um does it count that I race my 2.0 litre Jetta in autocross. I have 115hp and sadly thanks to the S2000 I have to run in OS2 with all the Z06s because of my suspension set-up.

I myself as going to take a little stab at tracking a motorcycle early next year... although I'm not sure if I can afford two track vehicles...
Taking a bike to the track is just as good for your motorcycle riding skills as autocrossing is for you street driving (car). You can race-prep your streetbike as well (mostly just safety wiring and taping lights. TPM and cornerspeed are great groups to get started with. I think tpm's website is www.teampromotion.com

Let me know if you go to one, I might have room in the trailer for another.

Ran Sunday with the Tennessee region Solo2 club and had a great time. HUGE thanks to Mike Cavanaugh (DriveI65) for letting me co-drive his car!! It was great being able to show up and drive a car that's setup well, has track time and is similar to mine. Thanks again Mike!

I ended up 1st in BS (350Z taking 1-2), 17th in raw time and 18th in PAX out of ~60 entrants, using Potenza S03s. I believe every car in front of us was on R-compounds except a Type R and just a couple others.

Our local/city season wrapped up yesterday. 39 drivers and I got my 2nd FTD (raw time) of the season.

Even better, I managed to win the class championship by a mere .27 point out of a posible 600. Close eh? I really didn't expect to contend in my first season with the car and returning to Solo2 after 5 years off, but the 350z really came on strong the last month and I started to feel quite confident in it's behaviour.

I'm so damn proud of how the car has done this summer. If I could buy it a beer I would!

Result from 9/12/04 - Phoenix, AZ region. Finished 7th out of 138 in PAX and raw time, with a 962 pax. Overall there were 7 cars in BS, but some were running in the Street Tire category. 2nd place was an S2000 on Kumhos.

I ran Saturday at Nashville, TN and did better than I expected.

We got our runs in before a light rain. My 2 month old S03s are getting close to retirement but they stuck good enough. The RX-8 isn't the monster the car magazines and Mazda ads would like people to think. The guys was complaining about no low end torque coming out of the 180.
