Good question... no, the helmet spec does not change until the END of 2005. M95 and SA95 helmets are acceptable for the 2005 season.

As of January 1, 2006 however, we will only accept SA rated helmets, SA2000 or SA2005.

I don't know exactly, but it's probably close to 80% filled... As a matter of fact, I know the intermediate slots are almost gone... like maybe 5 or so left as of Friday.

What car are you planning on bringing?

I think we've got at least one other '05 GT that's going to sign up... not sure about any C6s

You can find some on ebay for cheap, but sizing and making sure they are Snell rated can be a crap shoot. For an HPDE helmet, you can't beat the G-force open face SA2000 for $149.00:

It'll be legal through 2010 for most clubs, some even longer. If you end up doing more HPDE stuff, you'll probably want to get a new helmet in 2010 anyway. The SA2005 rated helmets will be coming out this year, but probably not until October.

Never heard of Pyrotect, but looks to be a legit seller. If you can get it for less than $200, I'd say go for it, cause you can get simlar helmets brand new for $249.00

Just FYI Yellow is now full.
Green is about 75%, and Blue is close to 90%.

I have a feeling we will be booked soon.

Actually - New cars, especially those with less than 10k miles are basically exempt from having to have the official tech inspection done... HOWEVER!!! Please download the form and go over it yourself... then just bring the form with you to the event - we'll issue you a tech sticker there.

Or, have Alan Giles look over it for you - we'll accept his signature on the form.

It certainly would be quite a ride... and a very expensive one. It could be done, but probably not using our format. There's just too much track. It would definately have to be a more 'open track' format, if for no other reason, the lap times would be SO long, especially for most HPDE drivers, that even an hour-long session would only net you 12-15 laps.

But more than anything - the cost to rent it would be enormous. So theoretically, take our Full course entry fee, then add it to our South Course entry fee, and you get an idea of how much the cost would be.

It would have to be open track, because there wouldn't be enough instructors for the amount of cars on track.

Don't get me wrong though... if a few clubs want to go in together and share the costs/risks, we would certainly consider it.
