Some models are heated..
These have 5 wires versus the regular 3 wire

So does anyone ever wonder if we can have a relay that will make the side mirrors go downward when reverse is engaged? That'd be freaking sweet.

KPtechnologies is ready to release a 'reverse tilt down' module any day now. You can find some more info on the KPtech forum - www.KPtechnologies.com/forums

Red wire: power
Blue wire: switch
Black: ground

JDM side mirrors have 5 wires:
Yellow, blue, purple wires: mirror movement control.
Pink and orange wires: folding motor control

Could you do a complete write up with step-by-step instruction of your DIY install?

is $100 a good price?? I'm in australia, how much would it cost to ship here??

Actually do I even need the relay??? My car is the Australian spec and already has electronically folding mirrors, however they don't fold automatically when I turn the vehicle on or off, I have to do it manually with a switch which is located on the drivers side arm rest.

You got a problem with me enjoying my Kimchi? Just because I eat kimchi, you can't take my word? WTF is wrong with you? It's a funny way to say that I'm Korean and proud of it.. I consider myself a straight shooter and I don't ******** around... Does my mod list look like I'm a ********ter? Take my word, you are an idiot for judging people's character just by reading his sig.... Your attempt of being a class clown failed miserably, and just revealed how pathetic you are... Grow the F*#k up...

Dude, read the first line of the first post. Bought JDM mirrors from Japan... and rigged up my own wirings with relays to make it work. It's written in Korean, because I'm also sharing this info with my Korean 350z club members... It's still working flawlessly. I'm too busy with work, so I don't have time to write a full write up... I made this thread to show you guys that this is possible, that's all.

Woahhh buddy. relax. even if I was serious, Kimchi has no relevance to cars. Take a joke from one korean to another.

Get over yourself...

Did anyone ever notice that the mirrors can fold forward towards the front of the car as well? This feature seems useful if someone clips your mirror while the mirror is out....the entire mechanism will fold forward..motorizing them seems to neglect this feature....

so, if i were to go to the junk yard or buy jdm folding mirrors off of ebay that come with the switches, and take the motors out and put them in the stock z side mirrors, how would i get them to fold in and out when i turn the key and take out the key? is that what the relay is for? is there any other way i could wire this up with out the relay so it would do this?
