hey guys I just had a question. My buddy and I installed my evo-r air duct today, and by the way it looks so nice, but I wanted to ask a few questions:

1. for those who installed their air ducts, does it look like the hole in the air duct gives direct air to the intake? Mine seems to be pointing down, since the bumper curves, and the air duct doesn't.

2. we didn't use a rivet gun, but we juss drilled the screws into the bumper. My fear is that the screws will juss fall out of the bumper and my air duct is going to fall off, should I be scared that the screws won't stay? I was wondering if I should go to the hardware store and buy mini bolts to bolt from the inside just to be safe?

Thanks! I love how it looks =)

Now take a sharpie, or paint pen and go over your rivets. Nice write up.

What's the difference with this vs. the Varis duct? Is one cheaper than the other?

What kind of screws did you use to secure the duct?

Oh oops, i thought you had the TiTek duct. It should be fine if you are using those screws! If they are long enough to go through the bumper cover, maybe a little epoxy along the exposed screw threads on the inside of the bumper cover to make it fully secure. I don't think you need it though but if you are really worried, it's an idea. It will hold the screw in and still be easy to remove the duct if you want.

do these ducts do anything at all performance wise, doubt any HP gain, but would it help to fight the heat soak? or would it act as a small ram air intake?

lmk thanks

they probably don't do much, but they make the zed look more aggressive I reckon..

To secure the duct, I would use little stainless steel nuts and bolts if it's easy to get behind the bumper..

another good fastener for this application would be an aerospace hardware fastener called a "HI-LOK" they come annodized and stuff too. plus they are not removable semi-like the rivets.

just an option..
i would rather have the head of a hi-lok showing instead of a blind rivet head....

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I was wondering if I got this duct, does it go all the way to the CAI or do you need to get the extra tubing to complete it and make it go completely to the intake?

you would need the extra tubing if you wanted it to reach all the way to ur intake.

Nice work!

Someone mentioned dual ducts for the HR...anyone making them?

Think they look good/perform well on a black NISMO...with CF or black w/black screws or rivets.

I dont think it comes with Black Rivets I'm not sure, but you can check Home Depot to see if they have some. I believe some people even painted the rivet tip black.

Glad this DIY is helping out people! Thanks Guys for the positive comments.
