That is also what I used and it worked out perfectly. Mine is a bit messy but I applied quite a bit of it after having a leak the first time due to not enough silicone.

Before... matte black and left the project housing unpainted.

Now... painted gloss black, even up to the projector housing. Light output has not been diminished.

I was wanting to black out my 06 headlights because i have already smoked out my taillights and lower front reflectors, but i have painted eyelids, "madeyes". would i need to take these off before i bake them in the oven? I believe i would need to but taking those off and putting them back on does not sound fun and would probably leave some residue from the 3m tape. Anyone got any pictures of blacked out headlights on a lemans sunset Z? I think it would go good with my set up, i have dark smoked out taillights, same on the front relfectors, 15% tint on the windows, and putting on some black staggered 19's next week

Of the three items you did not paint, what is the thing in the top right? Of the two remaining items, is there any downfall to painting them? I thought I read on the earlier headlights that this would affect the brightness or use of the high beams, but I didn't see anything about it on the newer lights.

Thanks.

when you were ready to seal your lights, did you put back this piece?

I am in the process of painting my 06 lights, and I didn't know if they would look better with or without that clear textured lens!

The Top right is the clear plastic reflector piece that goes over the turn signals. I've read that by painting the reflective parts, it shouldn't affect the light output but I played on the safe side. 07 lights should be the exact same.

Alright awesome man, I also have one more question. If I dont put it back in, would the headlight show indents or any sort of hole where that lens should have clipped in? Basically what I mean is would it look like It was missing a piece of the assembly if I leave it out?

does yours have that clear lens on it? (the one that I was talking about a few posts up...I posted a pic of the lens) and also how about those clear-yellowish plastic turn signal pieces? I'm trying to figure out what i should and should'nt put back in the lights before I seal them up

Yes, it does. You can tell when looking at the top half of the light (hence why top half looks lighter than bottom). I did NOT put mine back in because it's purpose is to evenly disperse light and once the blinker reflector is blacked out, there simply isn't enough light to disperse, so to me, that piece completely lost its purpose. Same with the bulb diffuser (tiny piece of plastic covering the bulb).
