take off the plastic casing around the halos and use a steel epoxy and !!CAREFULLY!! place them behind the housing around the lens route the wires through the rubber seal on the bottom and done.
careful is the biggest thing cus they break very easily
good luck

great write up...... the only thing i would suggest is that you DO NOT use cardboard.. i use it and it caught a small fire and burned a small portion of my headlight... use tinfoil instead.. it does not harm the plastic

most def! i had a fire 2
its not a problem just keep it wet. id b afraid to use the metal cus it would get hotter then the wet board. intrested in someone trying it a few times and post the results.

I'll be installing halos but was wondering what will happen to the wires from the halos when i put the headlights back in the oven to re-seal them. I'm thinking the wires will melt but i might be wrong. thanks!

I had zero issues with mine. I just took mine apart again today to adjust a couple of things, and the wires survived just fine.

For the record, I had my oven at 250 for 10-12 mins, no cardboard but I sat my lights on a cookie sheet. The first time I completely disassembled my lights to prevent wires from melting, etc. That turned out to be a lot of unneccessary work. For the re-seal, I assembled them and put them in the oven, wires and all. There were a couple of places where electrical tape that was wrapping wires got a little soft, but it was not a big deal.

the halos are fragile. i broke 3 pieces on one headlights.

i broke the first one because i have to reopen the lens, i broke the second one because i was trying to adjust the projector with a flathead, and i broke the third one because i try to remove it the third time. ended up paying over 150 for the 3 sets.

like everyone said. be careful

Thanks, much appreciated!!! I can now finish my headlights without worrying about melting any wires. I'll post some pictures once I'm all done.

Great write up! Thanks! Just got done painting mine. I didn't see any pics yet of them done on a DB, so I put a few in my gallery, check em out. For the record, I used tinfoil on a cookie sheet, and used huge welding gloves to insert inside the lights.

Here are a few pics of my lights. I went with flat black, sti clear lens, and halos. took me a while to complete them since i didn't have an entire weekend available. for anyone who is interested in doing the halo mod, here is a link to a DIY.

Hey guys. Very nice thread.
Need some help. I want to paint my headlights but the previous owner have had the lenses smoked.

1.How do I remove the paint from the cover.?
2.What kind of paint do u guys use?
3.Is sanding necessary ?

Thanks in advance
