DIY.Titanium Lips for stock exhust!!!
I was wondering if anybody here has done something like this:

Actually it's not that hard at all.
The thing that you need is something like this:

and start heating the end of the lips until they turn real red and wait for them to get cold and then:
[IMG]
[/IMG]
Titanium Lips for free.

Did you heat that on the car?? did you burn up the bumper by chance??

I did it on the car but I was very very careful with that and I suggest you dot it with them outside the car to get it done right.
And that torch is just like the one used for welding stuff.

that should work on any titanium exhaust the more u heat it up it should become more blue no?

dont have a torch,wonder how long it would take to do it with a lighter.

i just brought a stock exhaust from another member, me and a buddy preped it with a scrotch brite pad, then we coated it with a heat temp flat black paint, we then polished the tips wit metal polish, and now we a going to try that trick and torch the tip, ill send pics when i can. yall wish me luck

Good job.The tips on the stock exhaust are stainless.Any stainless will do this if you heat it up like that, even the greddy exhaust.Make sure the tips are clean and dont get fingerprints on the tips before you do this or you will get some weird discoloration.

Sweet DIY. I had a feeling this is how to do it, just wasn't as gutsy as you to try it on my Z
Did you hold the torch in one area until it got real red or did you cover an area going side to side until the area got red?
