Same deal mine will come out like an inch.

My housing was REALLY in there, left a little flat spot on the dash where I pryed so be careful taking it out guys.

What type of led doesn't need a resistor? Do you have links to websites that sells them? I'm not very knowledgeable with LEDs...

Well I have great news for noob DIY'ers:
You just need the led bulb since
The alarm system power supply to the LED should already have a built in resistor according to the helpful clerk @ radioshack
This may sound obvious but i was actually confused at first (although i did suspect that was the case)
