I thought the sti lens gave the headlights a purpleish look or modified the color, am I mistaken here?

Bought the halos and am looking very forward to this mod (doing this and black housing, but i just dont care enough to mess with the lense lol) and I was just wondering if I have to purchase two ac/dc converters or if they come with the halos you purchase? Thanks

The converters came with the halos I bought. The link is in the write-up.

Reconsider doing the lens mod, it's by far the best of the things I have done to my headlights! The cut-off is simply great, and the color band looks so damn cool! Seriously, every night when I drive my car, I am thankful that I did it.

Yes, just sand off the four high spots on that gray shroud. The stripes along the sides are already transparent. Yes, you will need the halos, as the light from the HID is focused too far forward to be effective.

Good luck, and post up pics when you are done!

I'm running into trouble taking apart a piece. The top four (or five i don't remember) orange parking lights.. Is there any way to take the clear piece off of the chrome or do you have to individually tape over each little square? Thanks!

I took a soldering iron and melted the plastic tabs that held the clear plastic lens on place... then I snapped them off. Still broke one in the process, but it was between the lenses, so I just superglued them back into place. Looks perfect once back together.

Awesome ya i was thinking just to glue it in..it weighs nothing and superglue works wonders.

PS my fingers are f'd from prying the light!

I have never seen that wave pattern with any lens... any ideas what could be wrong? The right one seems to be ok i THINK... Hope someone can help me out.. I'm going to try and reposition the lens.

EDIT: FIXED IT Turns out it was my bulb off centered. The cut of with these lens is so sick! Like having an upgraded bulb w/o buying a bulb ha.

Okay just finished. My thoughts on this mod...

The lens and halo effect are awesome and love it... but it was pretty tough dealing with this light. By no means did mine end up PERFECT (lil paint chip here that isn't noticeable), but good enough. Prying apart and gluing back together was a pain, and my biggest problem was re installing the HID bulb. But as i said, in the end I absolutely LOVE it..

One more thing.. the halo in the link op provided has been modified a bit. It did not have that base he removes. Just one smooth ring. THANKS FOR THE DIY !
