But as a plan B I was thinking about putting two CCFL halos in-front of the XBled, Similar to that of the triple iron man halo except the back one is the XBled.
My theory is that by having the XBled behind the CCFL, it will illuminate the glass tubing of the CCFL and make it much brighter.
Thoughts?
If things dont work out with retrofit, I am seriously considering this. I've had local members do the iron man with only two CCFL's with great results so even if it fails I'll still have the two CCFL's lighting my iron man halo.

i did, its in my car installed in this thread.
but of course , now theres LED technonolgy that i wish id have used.. they make high coount 1210 SMD LED halos now for cheap, shipped from CA on ebay for like 35 bucks.. they are in those plastic bmw halo casings, ut those can be opened.. i bet that would look sick on the nice or as the halo.
hell w them, you could front fire on and then use one pointing backwards and be money.
Dunno, its not the same look as the ccfl, but hands down, my build proves if you want to se them in the day, you need exposed leds..
keep in mind, leds dont put off alot of light.. they thmselves are bright, but they jsut dont cast out light.
Anyways, not sure if it was this my thread or another, but i told someone thye were crazy rying to rig aftermarket HID ballaasts to a nissan hid system.. WRONG.
after driving my Chrysler 300c w 55w HIDS 6k... my Z is a JOKE.. i just ordered a set of thick version metal case 55w ballasts and the d2s adapter pieces.. should be fun trying to get that cable thru the backplate, but ive done worse.
results and pics to follow.. wont be for awhile tho.

Looking into the Oracle CCFL "demon eye" kit lol.
I too was considering the 55w as well. But I was told it was more trouble than it was worth...
Leave it to you to do the crazy sh*t first.

you know the erq sizes now, jsut ebay for them.. they are all cheap and about the same qual.
The LED halos that are avail now are extremely bright tho, they have recatnge shaped smds and have like 126 of them for a 90mm ring.. jsut crack the plastic housing off them and do that.
When i have to open mine up again, im ditching most of what i already installed.

Here is what they look like with the red painted cutoff. Probably my favorite mod.
Also for those of you with the bubbling paint issue. I figured out what causes it. It is sunlight going thru the sti-r lens and melting it. Nothing to do with your headlights being on. I was thinking of making some type of headlight covers for when it's parked to stop this. Something that is either static cling or maybe suction cup.

Those xbaleds will surely work fine for the iron man mod.. I will be ditching this ccfl set up when my current build is done and I move back to working on the z again..
The old led rings were more point source where these new ones are fully radial in terms of light output.
Not sure which ones to get yet tho..feel free to be a pioneer.. I had my share of trial and error.

More to come soon.. and I will likely build a new thread, so Ill jsut link it back here.

so i just ordered 2 55w hid kits in the mail to replace the old crappy ones i currently have and then i came up with the idea to try using the old ballast on my DRL LEDS that are in my spyder headlights... does anyone know if you can do this or has anyone tried using ballasts on LEDS to make them brighter?
