Hello. About to replace my brake pads and reapply grease to my caliper pins. Just want to make sure if these caliper grease will work fine for the caliper pins and not damage the rubber housing.

I know this is a super old thread and this question has probably been answered somewhere before but I can't find it. One of the rear brakes is squealing badly. Pads and rotors were replaced about 3 months ago. We pulled the top pin in the caliper and tried to rotate it down on the lower pin (as directed in many places) and it only rotates part way and then hangs up on something. In videos on Youtube, it swings down with no resistance. We also loosened the lower pin - same result. We didn't try to force it. Should we? I couldn't get the lower pin all the way out because part of the suspension is in the way. I could take the entire caliper off by removing the two larger bolts but am hoping to avoid that. Thanks.

Yes. It may require some force. I have used a huge screwdriver, a breaker bar, and even gently tapped with a small sledge hammer to get them down.
