Default Rotors n Pads toast! Aftermarket?!

I toasted my rotors and pads in 17k miles .... what aftermarket would be in the 200-250 range for rotors that will hold up major abuse. As far as pads ... Hawk HPS or Greenstuffs?

I got the stage 2 stoptech setup which comes with stainless steel braided lines, rotors, and hawk pads. A great bargain from Performance Nissan. Anyways, I agree that the hawk pads suck for daily driving. They stop on a dime and work really weel at high speeds also but they squeal alot in normal city driving. I second teh recommendation on Endless pads, see if someone can sell you the stoptech kit with endless instead of hawk pads.

Even though my stock setup is not too close to being "toast," I too have checked on a few items for us "too broke to get a big brake kit" enthusiasts

Here's what I got (awaiting install this week):

Compliments of 350tuner

And I'm the test dummy for a custom, slotted, cross drilled rotor with a nice black, glossy hub . . . I have digital pics of them as they arrived today, but IMO, they look 20x better in person. Perhaps, I need to learn to use my POS digital cam *LOL*

Question. How did you ruin your rotors with only 17k? I've been to numerous track events, and my rotors are fine at 20k+.

I was about to ask the same thing. I'm at 16K and just painted my calipers. I inspected my brakes (rotors and pads) and they looked like new. I was surprised at how well they were holding up.

Did you remove and install the backing plates off the factory pads?

Mine squeak also, and I definitely re-installed the factory backing plate, applied hi-temp lube between the backing plate and the pad, and followed the bedding procedure to the letter.

I'd also like to say my hawk hps pads are really noisy but they do stop great. The hawk pads really last even under high speed braking (120 mph and above) and the rotors have yet to warp. I would suggest seeing if you can get the stoptech kit with endless or project mu pads instead of hawk.
