SS Front Brake line issues

SS Front Brake line issues
I just changed my pads and noticed that my brake lines are starting to chafe after 6000 miles. Has any one had this happen? Its bad enough that they will need to be replaced. The stoptech lines only have the one mount at which point you just slide the line to adjust slack. Any tips on what to do next time to prevent this. Anyone have pics of how they placed their line?

Its fairly obvious. Its the part of the line that is between the only bracket and the caliper where the line is on the rise up to caliper. On both sides it had worn. Passenger side was very very bad. I will order new lines tomorrow from Performance. I installed these lines when I put the brembos on. I remember wondering when I installed what kept the line off the tire. I guess I should have worried more about it at the time but I thought it must be ok.
If you do find that yours is ok . . .could you describe to me how it is placed and / or a pic.

That is not where I have mine mounted . . .I have mine on the bracket up near the spring. Unfortunately there was no instructions and I just put it there out of similarity to the stock. Oh well, I guess I that will teach me to install brake lines in a hurry late at night.

John, that is where the Stoptech instructions state to mount it, but I was informed that they had changed that decision but hadn't updated the PDFs on the site to the new location which involves removing that bracket intirely and mounting the stoptech bracket to the top hole where the old bracket was attached. I can take pics if anyone needs them.

Adam, did you mount the bracket on the opposite side of the arm (sorry, can't remember what it is called) that is in the photo? That's where I have mine.

It's been over a year now that I had a brake line problem with their suggested routing of their SS brake lines from their instructions. I melted the clear coating. Sad that they have yet to correct their routing suggestions. I have re-routed my lines succesfully......I'll look into finding pics soon. Simply, run the lines behind the upright, away from the rotor face.

Hi guys...I have mine routed in front of the upright, and I haven't had any problems at all. I track my car every month. Sorry for any confusion this has caused.
Here's a pic of the normal routing:

Apparently, this has been our website since October, and I didn't even know it!

This should clear up all of the questions. Thanks.
