Default Tein flex damper noise

I recently got my Tein Flex Damper with EDFC installed, but whenever I got over speed bumps/humps, I can noticably hear the springing sound of the rear springs. Am I supposed to hear it or is it normal?

Thanks

I can't believe it's normal, but mine does it too and it's annoying as Hell! Sounds like the bedsprings in the Honeymoon suite at the Dixie Motel. Maybe someone on here can tell us how to quiet them.

i had the generation 1 FLEXs when they first came out- they squeak pretty bad but i was told by the TEIN engineers that its normal for the rear to squeak .

the generation 2 Flex have a redesigned upper pillow mount and revalved shock with stiffer springs.. oh yea tein WON'T do warranties on the gen 1s to fix this issue.. pretty crappy-

i mean i love the handling these Flexs have but they are quite annoying going over bumps....

the "eee eee eee eee" is unfortunately there to stay. when did u get your Flexs?

most aftermarket coilovers will squeak a little but i've learned to live with it.. :\

Cheston,
Are there any coilovers that don't squeak? As for the Flex's is the noise coming form the rear springs or the shock assembly? Does the gen 2 fix the squeak and can you just buy the parts that fix it?
How do you tell the Gen 2's from the 1's. I bought mine in April from Performance Nissan.
Thanks,
Bob

If squeaking is pissing you off that much over a few speed bumps, then go get yourself some rubber tape and stick if where the spring touches metal to cushion it some more.

My buddy has HKS Coilovers on his Lexus IS, no squeak at all and the car handles like a dream. Don't know if the HKS for 350z will sqeak though...Maybe some HKS users like Jason@ Performance could chime in and tell us...

yes, i have had my hks ls+ coilovers for well over six months...no squeeking, squishing, or any kind of noises coming from these particular coilovers. i have had tien flex in the past and although i was happy with the performance they were a bit too noisy for me. good luck with it...peace out

Thanks,
My first choice was HKS but they were on backorder and my wheels were coming, shoulda waited.
While the squeaking may not affect performance, it sure makes it hard to project a killer image with gerbil treadmill noises coming from the rear of your car.
Properly engineered coilovers shouldn't make noise! Maybe a good coating of WD-40 ?

this should help you all with those squeeky teins!

tein sells a silencer tubing that fits around the coil. this prevents or rather quite the noise of the springs compressions and expanding. an example of this can be seen if you look at your stock springs or i know for sure that the RSX-S has some of these tubes on the coiles to make the squeek go away or become less noticeable.
