Question brake squeal question

I had new brake pads (oem) installed, and ever since they were installed, it is squealing more than it was before. Should this die down over time, or will it only get worse? I haven't done any hard braking since having them installed. Any ideas?

thanks.

They installed them improperly. Take it back. OEM pads should definitely never squeak.

The pads are making noise because they haven't been bedded in yet, heat up the pads by doing 8-10 hard braking manuevers from 60-10 MPH without coming to a stop then let the brakes cool by driving for 10-15 minutes before stopping, the noise will be gone.

Agreed! Here's a link to step-by-step bedding instructions as well as some information that help take away some of the mystery of bedding: http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm

I'm not sure you'll need to do 10 braking runs, since you've got stock brakes and we are talking about street pads, not track pads. Just follow the guidelines on my site.
