Does anyone know how to mount the rear springs with the stock rubber mount (my kit did not come with the rubber mounts too >_<)?

I called up JIC today, they told me to drill a hole in the LCA and mount the perch on the bottom with the stock lower rubber mount. The things is both the LCA and the rubber mount are spiraled to accpet the spring, the JIC perch won't still straight.

also, what do u mount the top with? the stock rubber boots don't fit the linear springs, they barely fit the progressive ones.

I have JIC linear rears (looking to switch to 10kg though) and have not had any 'noise' issues with my install.

I first drill a hole through the LCA, place the stock rubber spring mount in the LCA. The inner diameter of the rubber mount is level which is where the threadable spring perch will rest. Bolt the spring perch to the LCA.

For the top of the spring, remove the OEM cone-shape upper spring mounts, push the metal clips flush with the panel and use the thin rubber JIC gasket between the top of the spring and the body work.

Next, loosen the red lock on the shock body. Grab the shock body (which is threaded) and rotate it so that it pulls the LCA up. Continue until the spring is 'pinched' between the bodywork and the LCA so that it's difficult to move by hand. Don't go too tight as you'll effectively increase the spring rate. This will prevent the spring from moving during negative travel (ie: rear suspension completely unweighted).

Be sure to centre the top of the spring as it's being preloaded/pinched.

Don't forget to tighten the red locknut when you're done.

i didnt get one in mine....

 

It's not much of a mount, trust me. Maybe 1/8-1/4" thick, and quite flimsy.

how about the adjustment perch for the spring?

 

Does anyone have pics of the rear setup installed? I just got a set of jic coils. The only rubber thing I have is on the bottom of the rear coil height adjust ment thing.

 

that rubber piece actually goes on top of the spring. the design is a little "backwards." the adjustment perch is on the bottom. this has been confirmed with JIC themselves. you have to drill a hole in the lower spring perch of the vehicle and bolt the adjustment perch to it.

 

Hi there I have purchased a set of JIC-Magic FLT-A2 coilovers used for my Year 2004 Nissan 350Z and I have had my Auto Body Shop installed both the front and rear suspensions coilovers but my body shop came up with trouble installation the rear spring! I have used the front 10K spring for the front coilovers but the rear 12K springs have no idea how to installed them probably... Do I still need to keep the original parts like the cone shape upper seats and lower rubber seats that already have for the original big black OEM Springs??? And I have a stupid question can I use the original big black color springs with the JIC 12K springs together??? Just curious...and I have to drill a hole in the lower spring perch to hold the adjustment perch... what about the top?? All i need is to put that piece of rubber on the top no drilling right? Thanks.
