I have a performance Z, is it a good idea to run only front brembo on it?

 

I ran my enthusiast for about 1 1/2 years like that until I got a set of rears.

Only some front bias in very hard braking situation otherwise no major impact. I only got the rears as I am a bit **** and always bugged me not to have the rears on as well.

 

In aggressive braking most of the weight is on the front end so little is gained by having big brakes in the rear also. Good rear pads got rid of the understeer for me.What big brakes do mainly is provide additional mass to dissipate heat under race conditions. Again pads up to the job will stop almost as well as big brakes - the weak spot is tire adhesion. I use Axxis ultimates on the front all the time and add Porterfield R4s's when I track it.
These are usually short sessions.
Having said that I would love to have a BBK on the front for looks alone but other needs are more pressing on my bank account.

 

I do know that big brakes do more on dissipate heat under race conditions, i was thinking about getting 04+ maxmia on the car... but i do want the bbk looks... and what i worry about having just front bbk is front bias... is the bias really bad or it is okie if i get better pad for the rear?

 

It is not bad at all, I only noticed it a couple of times when I had to really jam the brakes or it would have been an accident, but the better braking more than made up for the front bias.

 

So westpak, the brembo is way better than stock??

 

I think so, not so much during normal driving, you don't feel the difference that much but when yo uneed them and stomp on them boy yo uknow you have them.

 

for normal driving it's ok. however it's never recomended.

 

Tony@Performance, never recommended to have only brembo front?

 

Anyone has anymore suggestion?

 

run a less aggresive pad in the front, and a more aggresive in the rear.
