I thought they were just a version of the Brembo Lotus caliper, no?
Anyways, it's highly doubtful Brembo would allow their name to be put on calipers if they weren't genuine Brembo's. They are very protective of their name.
On a past project, I purchased Boxster calipers to mount, and I had them painted by the US Brembo distributor. They would only paint the Brembo lettering on the side of the caliper if they were able to verify that the calipers were genuine Brembo's (they were).

he turned around and hit the most obvious curb in the dealership (there arnt that many and theyr like 8 " tall) and screwed up his rim

U are all right............i was just making the whole thing up and I dont know anything...............
Just relating what I was told by my resources which happen to be a major leader in brakes in the racing community.
what I was told..........
could be ment that the calipers are brembos and the rotor are sumitomos (spelling)
the brakes where a joint effort between the two companies........they where originally the same design as on the skyline.....
.So yes they are Brembos.....(the track pads are ferrodos)........ and no they dont suck......lets move on then shall we!

The track package brakes consist of Brembo discs and calipers, which are produced in Italy. The pads are indeed Ferodo for both front and rear.
Brembo does not actually produce friction materials themselves. Calipers that are used on OEM applications are loaded with pads which have been extensively tested and approved by the OEM that is taking delivery of the brake systems. Off the top of my head, I can name about 10 manufacturers of friction materials that are used as original equipment in vehicles equipped with Brembo brake systems.

Instead of starting a post with the title "Brembos Suck" which is certainly an invalid statement, why didn't you just say something like "Trouble with MY Brembros" or "MY Brembos suck"???
My Track brakes are fantastic and I have had NO problems at 2100 miles and counting. The only squeals I hear are from jelous onlookers.

I have been told that the squeaking is caused by glazing, whish is in turn caused by using the brakes lightly for long periods of time (say, in stop and go traffic). I don't have that problem with my track Z, but I have had that happen with my Blazer, and my Ducati (which has brembos). Anyway, a friend of mine told me that all I needed to do to get rid of the squeak is to do a hard stop. 40 mph in the truck, push the pedal to the floor, AMS kicks in, and no more squeaks. (the duc is a lot more fun to do this in, but takes a bit more finesse) It probably puts a little extra wear on the tires, but it seems to work for me. I know it can happen otherwise, but most of the time I see this it is people who drive like little old ladies, or tailgaters and people who like to constantly touch their brakes while driving on the freeway, instead of using the throttle to modulate their speed.
