I know that this thread was from a while ago but he did actually do it if you believe my GTech, which he borrowed on that run. He was on Hoosiers and the data plot indicated that he pulled it for well over a half of a second which should rule out any jarring of the meter.

But for comparison I've pulled 1.12g on my RA1s at the track. And he is definitely a better driver than I am.

Pulling a "g" on the track or street is NOT the same as a skidpad test (which measures the point at which the car slips on a circular 300 foot radius track). The difference, as mentioned before, is sustained grip vs. momentary acceleration.

For example, if your car falls off a cliff, your Gtech will report an experience of 1 g (let's ignore wind resistance) - doesn't mean anything in regards to the car's handling capability...
