I was in the same dilemma. I decided to go with red. This is how I figured it out.
I really like the blue and I believe it looks really good. However, the whole point of painting your calipers is to provide attention to them. In order to do that, you need contrasting colors. You need them to stand out. It's not like matching socks with your pants. If you go blue, it will be blended too much and a random person may not notice them. When colors contrast, your eyes are drawn to the contrasted colors. I've had girls (not into cars) mention the red on the calipers. I originally was going to go gold or yellow, but the 350Z Brembo's are golden in color. So red was the next best choice.
Again, blue is a fantastic choice too. Good luck.
Oh, and by the way. 2003z does some incredibly powdercoating. I've seen his work in person. A+++

Good points, another reason I stayed away from trying to match the car was that if with time the blue discolored then it wouldn't match and it would bug me, this way if the red gets darker no big deal. Not sure about powdercoat but the Brembo's were dark brown by the time I got them powdercoated not gold anymore.
