StopTech Big Brake Kit Install Question
I will be upgrading from the track Brembo's to the StopTech 4 wheel brake it.
Do the track Brembo's have the backing plates?
If they do can they be completely removed instead of trimmed as per StopTech install instructions?

yes, the OEM Brembo brakes have a thin metal guard on the backside... I think the metal is pressed into the hub, so it's not easily removable.
I used tin snips to trim mine and I don't even have Stoptechs... but when the OEM Brembo rotors get hot, they tend to rub on the dust shield, making an annoying scraping sound.
Some cars (my old Audi A4) have the dust shields attached with small bolts, so it's easy to remove. I think Stoptech recommends trimming it since it's not easily removable.

I haven't bought it yet. I am buying tomorrow. But the offer is $4336 shipped for the 4 wheels big brake kit..... and that includes a set of JIC FLT A2 shocks. Increadible deal. You get $2000 shocks for free.
